Day 273 - The Joy of Putting Others First: A Call to Generosity and Sincerity

Do you look for opportunities to find the joy of putting others first?

The Lord calls you to care for others and put them first in sincerity and generosity. Many fight this, and relationships become damaged and harmed because you consider yourself first. You cheat yourself of the joy that could come if you do for others and then worry about yourself.

If then there is any comfort in Christ, any help given by love, any uniting of hearts in the Spirit, any loving mercies and pity,

Make my joy complete by being of the same mind, having the same love, being in harmony and of one mind;

Doing nothing through envy or through pride, but with low thoughts of self let everyone take others to be better than himself;

Not looking everyone to his private good, but keeping in mind the things of others.

Let this mind be in you which was in Christ Jesus, (Philippians 2.1-5 Bible in Basic English (BBE))

Prayer:

Comfort me, Lord. Let me find rest in your glory, if only for a moment. Is there someone who needs you more than I do, Lord? If so, run to them and hear my request no more; others are and should be first in my mind and yours. I want to put all others into your loving arms before you hear me. I know you are there and that their need may be significant. Comfort them and give them your peace and rest. Heal them, and if I can assist, let me do so. Nudge me into understanding my service capabilities and what I can achieve for you. Together, we can help, and I am grateful for the opportunity. In Jesus name, I pray. Amen
