Heavenly Father and amazing Lord, thank you for your faith in me. It gives me a future.
And the pride of Israel gives an answer to his face; but for all this, they have not gone back to the Lord their God, or made search for him. (Hosea 7.10 Bible in Basic English (BBE))
Imagine the pure innocence of a child. Children see only good in the world and want to embrace everyone and everything with joy. Such is our Lord; he stands waiting, knowing the innate goodness in each of us.
KNOWING that we are loved and, as a result, worthy of his total and complete trust.
SADDENED when we do not turn to him when we are happy or in need.
WAITING for his love to be returned.
FAITHFUL and patient, knowing we will come to him.
It is not too late; he patiently waits for our return, yet we do not always turn to him, and his disappointment is understandable. Perhaps he feels like the child who awaits Christmas with a tingle of excitement and anticipation but discovers that his family decided to forgo Christmas that year.
Ask yourself. Am I a carrier of belief and faith as God calls me to be as his child, or am I lukewarm and tepid in my belief because I am an adult with no need to answer the call of the Lord?
Prayer:
Loving Jesus, you are the child I want to be more like. I want to believe in you with complete faith. I want to imitate your sincerity. Lord, I am not too adult to recognize you as my creator, Father, and the innocent I want to emulate and know. Help me forget the worldliness I have put on and remember the child within who was kind and full of belief and hope. You are precious and wise beyond my understanding. I know I am treasured, and I will always be yours. Magnificient Lord, thank you for your faith in me. I pray in Jesus Christ's name. Amen
