Day 283 - Trusting the Guidance of the Holy Spirit in Making Jesus-Centered Decisions

Finding Your Creative Bones® 365-Day Devotional © 2023

Making Jesus-centered decisions is much easier with the Holy Spirit.

Having ever in mind your work of faith and acts of love and the strength of your hope in our Lord Jesus Christ, before our God and Father;
Being conscious, my brothers, dear to God, that you have been marked out by God's purpose;
Because our good news came to you, not in word only, but in power, and in the Holy Spirit, so that you were completely certain of it; even as you saw what our behaviour to you was like from our love to you.
And you took us and the Lord as your example, after the word had come to you in much trouble, with joy in the Holy Spirit; (Thessalonians 1.3-6 Bible in Basic English (BBE))

Faith, belief, thankfulness, and much more are at the core of our relationship with the Lord. The Holy Spirit guides our use of faith. Making Jesus-centered decisions with the guidance of the Holy Spirit is a gift you can use over and over. Thank goodness the Spirit is always there to support and challenge you to go deeper in your thoughts and actions. He draws you to strength you may be unaware you have. You need strength to confront the constant onslaught of things that are not of God or representative of Jesus Christ.

Imitate the original apostles just as those who knew them did as they became believers. The original disciples imitated Jesus Christ. They understood him and saw what he did. Their actions should guide your actions. With the Scripture and the living, ongoing guidance of the Holy Spirit or Ghost, whichever name is comfortable, you can grow closer to God and serve as an example for all who meet you.

Prayer:

Lord, I am pondering my role in faith and in awe at your magnificence. The responsibilities are significant, and your blessings and belief in me are tremendous. I am amazed that I can be pivotal in this world. I ask you to guide me constantly and lend me the wisdom of the Holy Spirit continuously. I need you and want to serve humbly. In Jesus name, I pray. Amen
