Prophecy spoke the truth of the future, the miracle in the beggar's healing.
You are the sons of the prophets, and of the agreement which God made with your fathers, saying to Abraham, Through your seed a blessing will come on all the families of the earth. To you, first, God sent his servant, blessing you by turning every one of you from his sins. (Acts 3.25-26 Bible in Basic English (BBE))
Peter and John were the Apostles who served God in continuing the healing of the disabled beggar at the "Beautiful Gate". He immediately began to praise the Father and believe. Those in the temple were amazed, and again, Peter connected prophecy to his time so they could truly believe. The miracle in the beggar's healing by the Lord was predestined.
Through prophecies and actual happenings recorded in the Bible, we can see that there was and is a plan. How can we doubt the reality of God, the all-knowing of God? How else could Scripture be repeatedly fulfilled? God knows all people, times, and you. He rejoices as each accepts Jesus' saving grace. Or he waits for acceptance as a loving father awaits his child's agreement of a truth he has shared. The wait pains him, but he waits with love and longing.
Prayer:
Glorious Lord of all, I am thrilled to be a descendant of the prophets. In my joy, I recognize that my love cannot stop there. To be a complete love, I need to share it. Love alone is only a fragment of the fullness love of others brings into my life. In one sense, it is easier to remain alone; there is little possibility of being hurt by others. Yet that aloneness brings loneliness as I recognize that life is not complete. When I share a smile and a genuine moment with another, I feel a flame build in my heart. I know this is how life should be, and I want more. Please help me put my reservations behind me. Help me build the light of a flame of love throughout my relationships. Open my heart to yearn to know you better through others. Then let me share my love for you with them. Not overtly necessarily, not preaching, but through my actions with them. Let my smile and warmth ignite their love for you and engage them to seek a closer walk with you. Please help me be as I need to be, and I must be to succeed for you. With gratitude in Jesus' name, I pray. Amen
