God's great gift for faithfulness
As the waters receded from the most significant flood ever recorded, Noah made burnt offerings to our Father on the altar.
Scripture states,
"And when the sweet smell came up to the Lord, he said in his heart, I will not again put a curse on the earth because of man, for the thoughts of man's heart are evil from his earliest days; never again will I send destruction on all living things as I have done. While the earth goes on, seed time and the getting in of the grain, cold and heat, summer and winter, day and night, will not come to an end." (Genesis 8.21-22 Bible in Basic English (BBE))
Over and over, God returns to belief in humanity. He becomes angry, lovingly forgives, and comes to our rescue. Just as a loving parent does with their children. Love overwhelms anger and heals the heart.
Your realization that God made you precious in likeness to Him empowers you to realize your tremendous worth. Yahweh cannot and will not give up on us, on you, but that does not give us the right to give up on Him or ignore Him and the promise He asks of us. If we consider treating Him as precious as He believes us to be, we may not struggle as much as we do.
Prayer:
Sweet Father of all on earth, help me understand your promise. Instill in me the faith that understanding brings to my heart. You are present in all I see and know and have yet to know. Your love surpasses mine in the most remarkable ways. Please help me to demonstrate your passion consistently, thoroughly, and without fear.
As your son Jesus showed us, fear is to be overcome, and demonstration of love in your name is the greatest gift we can offer you in return. In your precious son's name, Jesus Christ. Amen.
