Day 318 - Finding Silence So You Can Hear

Finding silence so you can hear God's voice is critical.

Jesus was surrounded by people when he was in towns and villages, people who hungered for his message and prayed for healing. Many were curious and wanted to understand what was happening. There were times when Jesus had to withdraw from his followers to pray. He needed to find silence so he could hear the voice of our Father and talk one-on-one with the Lord.

The same is true for you. Sometimes, you need the silence of being alone to hear God's voice. Yet, you might struggle to take or make these opportunities for your relationship with God. Nurturing your relationship and life with private moments is important for your well-being. You can survive without them, but can you thrive?

Prayer:

Lord, help me make more time to nurture my relationship with you. Help me learn how to create and value our time. I was hoping you could remind me of no distractions during our time. I am sad that I haven't always made enough of this time every day. You and I deserve it. I love you, but perhaps I need to love myself more and show it by spending additional time in prayer, reflection, and listening to your voice. Lord, guide me and help me remember this--our time is critical for both of us to be happy! I pray in Jesus Christ's name. Amen
