Face your fears by harnessing the power of prayer.

But some of them went to the Pharisees with the news of what Jesus had done.
Then the high priests and the Pharisees had a meeting and said, What are we doing? This man is doing a number of signs.
If we let him go on in this way, everybody will have belief in him and the Romans will come and take away our place and our nation. (John 11.46-48 Bible in Basic English (BBE))

The Sanhedrin decided Jesus must die. Their fear was so great that they condemned him because they knew he put their future at risk.

Fear is a brutal enemy of good. It has an insidious power to encourage us to make bad decisions if we let it. Without a doubt, fear has caused many to lose their place in Heaven. To become motivated and manipulated by fear is to open yourself to evil. Fear-based decisions and actions can become your downfall. Slowly, as your fear builds, it replaces wisdom and your sense of right.

When you feel fear happening, take deliberate action to pray. Pray with enthusiasm and zeal for your eternal life, stability, and relationships may depend on it. Prayer enables you to face your fears by harnessing the power of prayer. With prayer, you will find your inner strength and peace. You will begin to understand that everything can be managed.

Prayer:

God, to all who come to you sincerely, please remove the instinct to allow fear to change my thoughts and control my actions. I can see it is essential to recognize when I am fearful. Recognition is my catalyst to watch my thoughts and actions closely. To think with wisdom and to pray for support and answers from you. I do not want to allow fear to make me less of a person, less of your person. I want to be wise and just. With you, I know I can be.

Lord, please help me become a catalyst for others to learn how to manage their fear. Enable me to be caring, not judging with their issues. Holy Spirit, please suggest solutions that I can provide that they will be willing to listen to and act on. Jesus, please help me be like you when you met the Sanhedrin and saw their fear. You were calm and treated them with goodness, yet you knew what would happen. Please help me be courageous. Holy Trinity, with you, I know that I can change my reaction to fear and live a happier life because of the change. Amen.
