Day 293 - Is Sin Ruling Your Life Without You Even Knowing It?

Honestly, ask yourself, is sin ruling my life?

The Lord is able to keep the upright safe in the time of testing, and to keep evil-doers under punishment till the day of judging; (2 Peter 2.9 Bible in Basic English (BBE))

Saying that they will be free, while they themselves are the servants of destruction; because whatever gets the better of a man makes a servant of him. (2 Peter 2.19 Bible in Basic English (BBE))

What overcomes you? This is something to consider; honestly, asking yourself where sin is ruling your life is important. What rules your life, taking most of your thoughts, actions, and time? It would be best if you considered this: you could be ruled by sin and not recognize it. Yet, it is critical that you search your heart and mind, realize your truths, and, if needed, take action to break free. It may help to consider that your life should be spent on two focuses: following the Lord and avoiding departure from the path to the Lord. Some temptations will distract you all along the way. If you step away from God, recognize what is happening, pray for forgiveness, take action to change, and know that what overcomes you could be a temptation that could derail your life if you allow it.

Prayer:

Lord, please help me see the things that overcome me and keep me on the path drawing me nearer and nearer to you. Open my mind, eyes, and heart to my reality and help heal these wounds to free myself from evil. As I lay my challenges at your feet, please accept my sincere apologies and forgive my errors. I mean well and want to do well. With your grace, I will achieve success. But I know this is possible only through and with you. I pray in Jesus Christ's name. Amen
