Finding Your Creative Bones® 365-Day Devotional © 2023
Are you like the land, ready for the rain and new growth? Finding the joy of leaving the desert behind.
For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways, and my thoughts than your thoughts.
For as the rain comes down, and the snow from heaven, and does not go back again, but gives water to the earth, and makes it fertile, giving seed to the planter, and bread for food. (Bible in Basic English (BBE))
We are as the land is. Sometimes fresh and lush in the Spirit and love of Christ. They and the Father are our rain and fertilizer. Other times, you may feel barren and forgotten, lost in the desert. But like the desert that patiently waits for the smallest drop of rain, you, too, must be patient and stay with love. Your time will come when it is right; then, you will bloom with the magnificence that will not be forgotten. Until you feel the rain, love, serve others, and act as Jesus would. The bloom will be even more beautiful for it. You can find the joy of leaving the desert.
Prayer:
Lord, today I may be in the desert feeling forgotten, or I may know someone who is. Let me keep making my way and helping until the time of bloom happens again. I trust you and know you are there. Remind me to grow more patient and loving toward all I meet and help them in any way possible. It may very well be that through them, the rain will come. I love and trust you always, and I am yours forever. In Jesus name, I pray. Amen
