Jesus is the true shepherd, when we believe in the gift of Jesus Christ, we have a future.
I am the good keeper; I have knowledge of my sheep, and they have knowledge of me,
Even as the Father has knowledge of me and I of the Father; and I am giving my life for the sheep.
And I have other sheep which are not of this field: I will be their guide in the same way, and they will give ear to my voice, so there will be one flock and one keeper.
For this reason am I loved by the Father, because I give up my life so that I may take it again.
No one takes it away from me; I give it up of myself. I have power to give it up, and I have power to take it again. These orders I have from my Father. (John 10.14-18 Bible in Basic English (BBE))
Jesus is the true shepherd for all of us. For we are the sheep, he refers to. We hear his voice, bless his love and generosity, and reveal our sins so we may forever join him in the pasture of Heaven. Reach out today and envision his graceful step as he walks through Heaven with all who believe in his attendance. Imagine your joy as you walk to his side to take your place amongst his flock. The thought and knowledge of what is to come will erase all your pain and angst, for it is not from him.
Prayer:
Beautiful Jesus, my savior, the thought of Heaven is inspiring, yet I know I still have decisions I have to make that enable me to walk as one of your sheep. I know I do not need to earn my glory with you; you earned it for me, but I am obligated to live my best life and help others do the same. It is not always easy, but it seems more worthwhile with each new understanding of your immense gift of salvation. I want to meet our Father's expectations and thrive in the miracle of being your child. Please help me and ask the Holy Spirit to guide my thoughts, actions, and decisions. I will dream of Heaven and feel content. I will surrender my journey to you and feel complete. I will look for you in each face I see and I will know you and God. Amen.
