Day 206 - Find the Joy of Success

Through God's gifts, you will find the joy of success.

Then our mouths were full of laughing, and our tongues gave a glad cry; they said among the nations, The Lord has done great things for them.

The Lord has done great things for us; because of which we are glad.

Let our fate be changed, O Lord, like the streams in the South.

Those who put in seed with weeping will get in the grain with cries of joy.

Though a man may go out weeping, taking his vessel of seed with him; he will come again in joy, with the corded stems of grain in his arms. (Psalms 126.2-6 Bible in Basic English (BBE))

Jerusalem prospered with God. You, too, grow richer with God. When we work hard and struggle, the rewards are so sweet. Do you feel happy when you accomplish something you felt was impossible or too difficult? Do you share these feelings with the Lord? Did you acknowledge his role in your accomplishments and happiness?

With God and doing the work you are to do, you can find the joy of success, perhaps not in financial riches, but in the things that truly matter. In caring for and teaching others, offering and accepting kindness brings joy to others. Do you understand and live with humility? Humility brings joy. Only you and God know the secret! Everyone does not need to know everything you do or why.

Prayer:

Father Almighty, I work for you and to survive. I offer this work with gratitude. It is a gift from you, and I am thankful. At the end of the day, when I return or end work, I want to be joyful. With you and your help, I know I can be. As you watch over me, Lord, guide me in decisions that help others. Please show me how to offer kindness I usually don't think of. Please help me be an instrument of joy for others and myself. Lead and teach me. I am listening. You are my dear Father, and I am grateful for you and your gifts. I long for the seeds I plant to grow into a rich harvest. Amen.
