Day 190 - Our Mission to Bring Others to the Lord

Finding Your Creative Bones® 365-Day Devotional © 2023

David is an excellent example in our mission to bring others to the Lord.

Be my judge, O God, supporting my cause against a nation without religion;
O keep me from the false and evil man.
You are the God of my strength; why have you put me from you? why do I go in sorrow because of the attacks of my haters?
O send out your light and your true word; let them be my guide: let them take me to your holy hill, and to your tents.
Then I will go up to the altar of God, to the God of my joy; I will be glad and give praise to you on an instrument of music, O God, my God.
Why are you crushed down, O my soul? and why are you troubled in me? put your hope in God, for I will again give him praise who is my help and my God.(Psalms 43.1-5 Bible in Basic English (BBE))

David realized that we each have a role in bringing others to God. At the same time, he knew that there were people who were not believers who would bring risk into his life. He is an excellent example in our mission to bring others to the Lord. He prays to send God's light into the world yet protect him from danger. His words of putting our hope in God are words we can use with others and for ourselves.

Prayer:

God, my God. Like David, I want to help those who do not believe in becoming believers. I want to help any and all people find the joy of knowing you, Lord. Our world would be far better with more people believing and acting as your loving children. Unfortunately, evil has rooted deeply in societies worldwide, and it is destructive of many lives. Evil seeks to change us all and to turn our backs on you. I will not. Instead, I will do my best to help others be just as clear as I am on the importance of accepting our beautiful Savior, Jesus Christ. I will also demonstrate your love so that others feel your kindness, acceptance, and desire to know them. We have a responsibility to grow the faithful so that we can save ourselves and our world. Strengthen me for the journey. It won't be easy, but I can do my part with you. Amen.
