Do you ask God to please infuse my mind with the Holy Spirit?
What then? let my prayer be from the spirit, and equally from the mind; let my song be from the spirit, and equally from mind. (1 Corinthians 14.15 Bible in Basic English (BBE))
Sometimes, people think we are thinking a way we are not. It can seem inconceivable to us that they have the opinion they do. What do you do when this happens? We can all live by David's example of refusing to kill Saul. Saul took so much from David, even his wife, whom David loved. Yet David could not bring himself to hurt Saul. David was a true man of faith, led by the Holy Spirit and wise beyond his experiences. At the same time, he would never know what drove Saul to his ways, but he still forgave and respected him. Do you have that grace within you? You do. You have only to ask the Lord for his assistance.
Prayer:
Father, you chose David because you knew he was sincere in heart and mind. He proved it repeatedly. Please infuse my mind with the Holy Spirit. Let me be truly connected and led by the Spirit. Eliminate any evil thoughts by filling my mind with a reminder that love should guide my mind, decisions, and resulting actions. This will allow me to act from and for the Spirit in all ways. I am grateful for this and all of my blessings, and I love you, Father. Amen.
