Can you follow Jesus Christ's example of continuous forgiveness?
Being glad in hope, quiet in trouble, at all times given to prayer, (Romans 12.12 Bible in Basic English (BBE))
Do not be conquered by evil, but defeat evil with good. One place where sin and sorrow can get the best of us comes from an inability to avoid judging others. There is no relief and respect to be gained from the negative feelings it brings to you. Trust in the Lord and use forgiveness to eliminate the barrier that the veil brings to your life. When forgiveness is genuine and heartfelt, pain, shame, and sorrow leave you.
Find respite and peace in forgiveness, for judgment is not yours. It is the Lord's; He will care for you if you allow him to. Find your peace and do what might seem complicated, but feel peace, speak peace, and forever dwell with the Lord in peace.
Prayer:
Sweet Savior Jesus, I seek your strength to forgive those I have hardened my heart against. I hope there are few, but still, I have allowed my heart to feel hurt and then let that hurt become a wedge between the people I care about and me. I realize today that my hurts and lack of forgiveness build a veil between you and me. That veil prevents me from acting as yours as wholly as I can. Dear Jesus, forgive me and help me learn to stop these feelings before they start. They are not suitable for me emotionally and are terrible for my relationship with others, you, and our Father. Please help me learn how to offer continuous forgiveness and make your living example of charity to those who hurt you the first thing I think of in a hurtful situation. Allow it to strengthen my resolve in those times to grow to the point where forgiveness is no longer necessary. Instead, I seek acceptance and charity of spirit. Jesus Christ, I look to you and God today to help me grow and become more like you. Amen
