Day 3 - Noah was Steadfast in His Belief: is belief lost if we hesitate to fulfill our destiny?

Updated: Jan 13

Finding Your Creative Bones® 365-Day Devotional

God grew frustrated with man and our selfishness, yet he knew one man, Noah, was steadfast in his belief.

Noah believed in God and lived his belief with his family. As a result, he and his family were chosen to live and enable all creatures to live. Trust that your tasks, which seem much less than Noah's, are no less important. Each of us has our destiny to fulfill, a mission for our lives. If your life feels off balance, perhaps you have put aside your tasks and fate. Can you be as Noah was? Steadfast in His belief.

It is critical for our well-being and the good of the faithful to believe and act on our beliefs. To do otherwise is to chance that our world will suffer somehow and that we will let ourselves and God down. To say it can wait for tomorrow is to change the future. Just as there was no reprieve from the flood, there may be no reprieve from your task. Failing to act, you may find growing dissatisfaction with your life. You may feel you are failing your journey or feel lost. Put these feelings aside with action, see if your path and spirit return to their true north, and again, you may feel excited about your future and what can and will be. Be patient if the change isn't immediate; repeat, repeat, and repeat. Know that the Lord is calling you, leading you, and loving you each step along the way. He will wait for you.

Then, at the end of each day, be content that you acted, and sleep peacefully, knowing all is on the path or already as it should be.

Prayer:

Loving Father, there are days when I do not see progress and others where I choose not to take action I know is needed. I know you forgive me, but I ask you to remove the hesitation from my spirit and enable me to keep moving forward to complete and fulfill my life's mission.

Remove procrastination as a trait I too often use to avoid taking steps that will shape the future. Instead, heal that part of me that is afraid or uncertain.

Fill me with the contentment and peace that all is as it should be and help me take the actions I need to take. Completing your mission is vital to me, and I ask you to clear my hesitation and replace it with vitality and excitement regarding the changes I can make in the world today and every day.

In your precious son's name, Jesus Christ, I offer these pleas to heal my hesitation and reluctance, to convert them to action and the joy that will come with the effort. Amen

I love the gentleness of this one in reminding me to keep doing what God whispers is His wish for me. And to notice my progress, to celebrate it with Him. The prayer was what I was meant to 'hear.' Thank you.
