Day 124 - Signs of a Loving God

Do you see the signs of a loving God in your life?

Do you believe in signs? Do you wait until you think you have seen one before you take action?

Signs are everywhere, in the smile from a stranger, the kindness you receive yet did not expect. The growth of a bud from a plant you had given up on plant returning to life. They are everywhere if you open your eyes, mind, and heart to them.

Yet you will not see the most significant sign God gave to us in person. Imagine it, though ... you are on a hill with a rock cave before you. Around the cave, there are tiny blossoms and the sound of a bird singing. As you grow closer to the cave, you realize the stone protecting the cave entrance has been rolled aside. Your breath catches as you know that someone has moved the stone for the tomb of Jesus.

At first, your anger and worry spark. Who could have done this? Then after peering in, it dawns on you that Jesus is gone, and you remember his words.

For as Jonah was three days and three nights in the stomach of the great fish, so will the Son of man be three days and three nights in the heart of the earth. (Matthew 12.40 Bible in Basic English (BBE))

Prayer:

Every day, I look for your signs Lord, the beautiful signs of a loving God. A God who is the leader of my life and my true hope of eternal bliss. I see your presence in every way I turn, in every person I know. Your creations are beautiful and a wonder. Thank you for helping me see and learn more about you daily. My heart grows with each new understanding, and I am grateful. Please help me help others see your signs so they can grow and learn through the experience. I love you, Lord, and thank you. Amen.
