Beware, revenge, anger, and the resulting pain can lead you away from God.
Be on the watch, unmoved in the faith, and be strong like men. Let all you do be done in love. (1 Corinthians 16.13-14 Bible in Basic English (BBE))
If any man has not love for the Lord, let him be cursed. Maranatha (our Lord comes). The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you. My love be with you all in Christ Jesus. So be it. (1 Corinthians 16.22-24 Bible in Basic English (BBE))
Today, you are reminded of the importance of loving God. It is so easy to carry hurt or pain in your heart. This pain can lead you away from God and into terrible actions. Fear acting on these thoughts. Do not let the slight or harm from another cause you to lose your connection to Jesus Christ. Do not deliberately sever the relationship you have built with Jesus and our Lord. When you act in revenge, you leave the Lord and curse yourself.
If you have let revenge or anger guide your actions so that you betrayed your love for God, pray for forgiveness now. Do not wait. Forgive any others you had difficulties with and accept healing from the Lord and his forgiveness. Act as the Lord would act, and you will be again on the path with God. He can and does forgive.
Prayer:
Forgiving Father and Jesus who sacrificed yourself for my sins. It is with sorrow that I approach with regret for past actions. You know, I have had times when I did not act as you would have. I am genuinely asking for your forgiveness. At the same time, I am asking for your help to prevent any such situation from occurring in the future. To act with malice is unworthy of a Christian and believer. I want to be of value to you, not someone you feel anything but happy about. I want to please you. Please forgive me and help me grow through the experiences. Amen.

RESIST
Read the scripture in context on the Bible in Basic English (BBE) website.
Resist with faith & trust. Yes…….
I'm just the opposite when I'm hurt or angry from other peoples actions. It's then that I know I need to pray more and thank God for getting me this far without stooping to their level. Yet another beautiful prayer.
Yet another great reminder to do some self-reflection and to look at ourselves. It's a good time to do this -- Sunday afternoon as I move into a new week. Dominique
Thank you for that prayer, I did pray along!! Great reminder that we have to pay attention to what is motivating our actions. I know there are times when I should pause before responding and I do not. - Jeanine
