Day 347 - I Want to Acknowledge My Blessings

Finding Your Creative Bones® 365-Day Devotional © 2023

Heavenly Father, I want to acknowledge my blessings.

We have all heard the comment, "Count Your Blessings". How often do we stop and consider every blessing in our lives? Most likely, very few of us have actually ever counted all of our blessings, but most of us pause at times and offer thanks for one or more blessings. If you think back to your childhood and youth, do you now see blessings you didn't recognize then? Considering them now, how do you feel loved or grateful? Do these thoughts make you feel nostalgic? Imagine how the Lord must have felt seeing you happy, hopefully carefree, in these moments. They were blessed moments of shelter and love from those around us and the Lord.

Think about ten years ago. Were there blessings you didn't recognize at the time? Wonderful, unexpected delights? Did you stop to thank the Lord and participate with him in the joy of your blessing? He was thrilled at your happiness and waited for you.

There are many blessings where we forget to include the Lord, though he is there waiting patiently, helping and loving us.

Prayer:

Heavenly Father, I neglect you and have throughout my life. Today, I want to acknowledge my blessings are overwhelming and more than I could count. If I travel back through my life, you graced me repeatedly. I am so grateful to you and your angels. Your love is so evident, and I am blessed beyond understanding for that alone. I thank you, Lord, and bless you and your glory always. Forgive me for not pausing often enough to offer my praise and thanks. I pray in Jesus Christ's name. Amen
