Will you keep to the ways Jesus Christ laid out for you?
He who overcomes, and keeps my works to the end, to him I will give rule over the nations,
And he will be ruling them with a rod of iron; as the vessels of the potter they will be broken, even as I have power from my Father:
And I will give him the morning star. (Revelations 2.26-28 Bible in Basic English (BBE))
John refers to Jesus in this Scripture and advises the churches and the people. Many claimed to believe in the Lord but yet still kept their tie to Satan and evil. John warns that if you know the Son of Man and the one living God, you must keep to the ways Jesus Christ laid out for you. To stop or do otherwise is to align with Satan. This sounds harsh, but it is true if you believe the Bible. Our Father and Jesus forgive sin when repented with sincerity, but those who walk both sides of belief will find little mercy if they do not repent.
Prayer:
Jesus, help me see where I may be blind to my ways that are unworthy of you. Help me change, repent, and walk with you. I truly believe and want to do my part for the kingdom here on earth and in the next life. I am your servant, awaiting the voice of the Holy Spirit to guide me. I pray in your precious name, Jesus Christ. Amen
