Day 330 - I Want To Be God's Today

Finding Your Creative Bones® 365-Day Devotional © 2023

I chose and want to be God's today, not later.

A line in scripture describes two women sitting together on the last day grinding grain. One was left behind, and the other joined Jesus and all who arose from sleep.

Imagine the joy and wonder the one who joined Jesus felt. It is doubtful we can come close in our imagination to the bounty of joy the woman must have felt.

Now consider the one left behind. As comprehension begins to down on her, the horror of realizing that she was not among those who disappeared when they ascended to Heaven must have also been unimaginable. Resignation that the truth she refused to believe was truth. Too late for Heaven today! She does have a chance to become a true believer while suffering the hardship of being in a world where good is tough to find and appears to be only in the shadows because evil is everywhere. Evil will prevail for some time. What choice will she make? How will she change? If it were you, what choice would you make?

Prayer:

Holy Spirit, guide me every day of my life toward Jesus. Please make me like a homing pigeon who always returns to the roost at the end of the day. I want to be God's today, not later. Help me reduce and eliminate bad choices and decisions. Help me become more of God every moment I breathe. Always remembering to ask myself "What would Jesus do?" I want this to be the mantra of my life, and I pray that love fills my whole body so no evil can enter. With you, I am protected and ready, Lord. Thank you. I pray in Jesus Christ's name. Amen

Help me become more of God every moment I breathe.

The tangle & word today are WONDERFUL!

Especially the tangle which so cleanly emotes the message.

Every day I am in awe of your triple-power ways each help me hold the words in my embrace.

Thanks, CR.
