Day 310 - Jesus Eliminated the Need to Fear the Lord

Jesus eliminated the need to fear the Lord when we completely love the Lord.

No man has ever seen God: if we have love for one another, God is in us and his love is made complete in us:

And his Spirit which he has given us is the witness that we are in him and he is in us.

And we have seen and give witness that the Father sent the Son to be the Saviour of the world.

Everyone who says openly that Jesus is the Son of God, has God in him and is in God.

And we have seen and had faith in the love which God has for us. God is love, and everyone who has love is in God, and God is in him.

In this way love is made complete in us, so that we may be without fear on the day of judging, because as he is, so are we in this world.

There is no fear in love: true love has no room for fear, because where fear is, there is pain; and he who is not free from fear is not complete in love.

We have the power of loving, because he first had love for us.

If a man says, I have love for God, and has hate for his brother, his words are false: for how is the man who has no love for his brother whom he has seen, able to have love for God whom he has not seen?

And this is the word which we have from him, that he who has love for God is to have the same love for his brother.. (1 John 4.12-21 Bible in Basic English (BBE))

In the Old Testament, there is a great discussion on fearing the Lord, and it is no wonder, given all the terrible things that the Lord felt compelled to do regarding the people's sins.

Then there was Jesus, who brought the love of God into the world, changing things forever. He allowed us to eliminate fear of the Lord and manage fear within our lives with faith. Fear of what will happen to you disappears in the true believer. After you accept the true, complete love of God and Jesus, fear is pushed aside, literally out of us. There is no place for fear if you believe. Doubt is the only thing that can let fear take root within you. If you open yourself to the overwhelming love of God, it becomes a consuming emotion that grants you a freedom you probably never experienced previously. This is a freedom the nonbeliever never experiences. If you believe, you do not have to have fear unless you allow it. Fear over your future should be forever gone. This is not to say you will have no challenges; you will, but your challenges should not overwhelm your faith unless you allow them to.

Prayer:

Jesus, you eliminated the need to fear the Lord. Your sacrifice of love removed my need to fear the Lord. You gave me your love and filled me with your love. You replace my fears with love and belief. You save me from the darkness that fear brings and burn a bright light within my heart with the peace of your love. I am so grateful and ask that you help me help others to know your love and live without fear. Help me bring others to you today and throughout my life. I pray in your holy name, Jesus Christ. Amen
