Day 308 - Being Among God's Chosen

Finding Your Creative Bones® 365-Day Devotional © 2023

Consciously becoming among God's chosen people.

This is the word which came to us from him and which we give to you, that God is light and in him there is nothing dark.
If we say we are joined to him, and are walking still in the dark, our words are false and our acts are untrue:
But if we are walking in the light, as he is in the light, we are all united with one another, and the blood of Jesus his Son makes us clean from all sin.
If we say that we have no sin, we are false to ourselves and there is nothing true in us.
If we say openly that we have done wrong, he is upright and true to his word, giving us forgiveness of sins and making us clean from all evil.
If we say that we have no sin, we make him false and his word is not in us. (1 John 1.5-10 Bible in Basic English (BBE))

The Father was made visible to people in the Son Jesus Christ. Visible so that we, in our human frailty, can believe and understand the complete compassion of the Lord. This Scripture was written after Jesus came and was resurrected, written by those who personally knew him and understood his teaching. How can we doubt?

Confess your sins to Jesus, our redeemer, and walk in the Lord's light. Bathe in the light of Christ, and believe and know you will live with the Lord forever. Remember the clarity of a child who doesn't waver in their knowing; they have complete faith that God exists and believes everyone on earth is part of God's kingdom. They know and accept. That child is correct; adults let blindness occur, and sin goes unchecked. Call out to Jesus for mercy and forgiveness in sincerity, and it will be granted. You are his if you continue to claim the Lord. You are more precious to God than you can understand. Believe and rejoice, for you are among the chosen.

Prayer:

Heavenly Jesus, forgive me all of my sins. At times, I have been lost in this world, losing sight of heaven. I cry out today for you to forgive and pardon me so I might again recognize your light and be what our Father calls me to be—I believe he calls me and all people to be pure love. I know I am privileged to be among God's chosen. Please guide me and advise me on different choices I could make when I fall. I sincerely desire to be fully in a relationship with you forever. I am grateful you have been patient with me, and I will do my best to remain in your holy light from now forward. Blessed is the Lord God, and I am blessed to know you. I pray in Jesus Christ's name. Amen

Lord, I am grateful you have been patient with me,

Cool tangle where I see continued patience in a strong, yet winding, pattern.
