May 10 - The Unchanging Mercy of God

Finding Your Creative Bones® - Daily 365 Day Devotional with Tangle © 2023 Cindy Rae Fancher, CZT

Do you understand the unchanging mercy of God?

And all the children of Israel were looking on when the fire came down, and the glory of the Lord was on the house; and they went down on their knees, with their faces to the earth, worshipping and praising the Lord, and saying, He is good; for his mercy is unchanging for ever. (2 Chronicles 7.3 Bible in Basic English (BBE))

God's mercy never changes and is endless. No less, no more, yet all we need forever. A thought that can bring you to fairness. It is easy to grow bitter when things happen to the people we love or us. It is easy to ask the Lord why, and some condemn God for it. Yet he is not at fault. He can't be if we believe his mercy is unchanging. Instead, we must look to the evils that afflict humanity and cause bad things.

Even though this world can be troubling and tricky, we can feel confident that, after this world, our family or loved one will be treated with the unchanging mercy of our Father. There, they receive his fairness and love. They will know the unchanging mercy of God.

Prayer:

Lord of enduring love, I thank and praise you with every breath I take for the rest of my life. Your kindness and generosity are beyond comprehension, and I thank you for your gift of mercy. Mercy that is so far-reaching that there are not enough stars in the heavens to balance the compassion you show humanity. Amen.
