March 4 - Moses Was A Good Teacher

Finding Your Creative Bones® - Daily 365 Day Devotional with Tangle © 2023 Cindy Rae Fancher, CZT

Do you ever consider Moses? He cared deeply for the people, and Moses was a good teacher.

Moses reminded Israel of their story and history as they traveled from Horeb to Canaan. He spoke of the Laws, of the times they did not listen to God. He reminded them that God's promises to Esau and Lot were kept. He encouraged them to stay strong in their faith and actions.

As they neared Jordan, Moses asked God if he could cross the Jordan with the others, but God was angry with Moses and refused. So Moses reminded the Israelites of the laws as they were about to enter Canaan across the river Jordan. He did all he could to make sure they were ready.

Today, with Jesus, there is a new covenant with God. He forgives past sins as he looks at us in the light of his son's sacrifice. Jesus gave his life and blood for us to live. God forgave us for our ancestors' trespasses. The scripture telling us this is a bit difficult to understand. Perhaps it is easiest to know Jesus changed our destinies, and that by following him, he changes everything into a bright future with the Glory of God, full of the love of Jesus, and the wisdom of the Holy Spirit.

Prayer:

Jesus, your covenant is a promise I gratefully accept. I offer you my destiny. I feel sorrow for my ancestors who didn't know you. I pray that they lived according to the law, that Moses was a good teacher, and that people listened and taught others his lessons. That your Father forgave their sins. In recognizing the possibility of that, I feel great comfort that now they reside with you and God, and that I will greet them in heaven one day. Thank you, Jesus, and thank you, loving Lord. Amen.

Word of the Day*

* one of our readers asked for a word of the day to be reminded of the reflection and prayer throughout the day. I thought this was a beautiful idea, and a Word of the Day will now be included for each day. Thank you for your feedback. Please let me know if you have an idea to make the day's thoughts more meaningful. If I incorporate your concept, I will send you a surprise.
