Considering whether every action and decision is good or bad today.
Jesus told us,
The Son of man goes, even as the Writings say of him: but a curse is on that man through whom the Son of man is given up; it would have been well for that man if he had never come into the world. And Judas, who was false to him, made answer and said, Is it I, Master? He says to him, Yes. (Matthew 26.24-25 Bible in Basic English
Judas Iscariot, the betrayer of our Savior Jesus Christ. Did he believe that Jesus was the Son of God? Could he have believed Jesus was the Son of God and still betrayed him for 30 bits of silver? What could have convinced him to cross the man he had spent so much time with? A man whom he had witnessed perform miracles.
It seems that only two things could have made that happen. God or Satan.
How does this relate to everything you do and decide? One way to see it is that every action and decision we make has the potential to be for good or for evil. What do you think? Is it black and white? Good or bad?
Prayer:
Precious Jesus, you were betrayed. You knew it would happen. You confirmed to Judas that he was the betrayer when he asked, yet he still betrayed you. With God, you could have stopped it, no doubt, but you did not. Instead, you sacrificed yourself for me and all who believe. There are not enough words to thank you for your gift. I am considering whether every action and decision is good or bad. I would appreciate your help in understanding the genuine answer to this question. My heart tells me that there are gray situations where something is neither good nor bad. It just is. But then I consider intention and wonder if the goal is understanding where the intent falls, into the bad or the good. I feel certain intention matters, so if the intent is pure, is that the key? Please guide me in understanding what I should think about this. Do I need to change my life? I believe I am willing and would greatly appreciate your help. I never want to betray you or Jesus. But I also feel it is essential to be wise in this matter. Thank you for helping me grow. Amen.
