July 8 - Does Your Heart Feel Heavy

Does your heart feel heavy because you do not feel the Lord's nearness?

The steps of a good man are ordered by the Lord, and he takes delight in his way. Even if he has a fall he will not be without help: for the hand of the Lord is supporting him. (Psalms 37.23-24 Bible in Basic English (BBE))

Do you yearn for the Lord? Does your heart feel heavy because you do not feel his nearness?

He is there. He is with you. Why is there a barrier between you? What separates you from him? Release your burdens, acknowledge him, and allow yourself to feel his peace. If you think you have sinned, ask for forgiveness; it is yours with a heartfelt request. Let your Father reconcile you and him, and let the breath of peace fill your soul.

Prayer:

Dear, dear Father God, I cry out to you with love. I ask for forgiveness for all I have done that was not of you: my thoughts, actions, and failures to act. I give them all to you in sorrow, and I request that you heal me, forgive me, and remove the barrier I have established between us. I want to cuddle in your love and feel the rays of your brilliance. They warm me to my smallest cell. I am a good person who allows my humanity to lead me in directions that are not yours. I am sorry, and I ask that next time the Holy Spirit helps me ignore the temptation and continue on the path with you. You have my love and commitment. Amen.
