David loved the Lord, and the Psalms were one way he expressed his love for the Lord.
I will give praise to the Lord for his righteousness; I will make a song to the name of the Lord Most High. (Psalms 7.17 Bible in Basic English (BBE))
David loved the Lord, and the Psalms were one way he expressed what he meant to him. The Psalms are beautiful words, songs, praise, and thoughts about God and what God is capable of. They are love letters and prayers of hope and prophecy for what will come.
Prayer:
God, enable me to sing your praises as David praised you. It is so apparent that he loved you beyond measure. He could do amazing things because of your grace, and he never forgot that you were the reason he was successful in life.
I want to be like David, to love and appreciate you beyond what most people consider normal. Inspire me to craft psalms for you in my life, whether written, spoken, or just felt. I feel that much love for you. You brought me to this place in my life. There are times you carried me, while at other times you let me run ahead. Yet you were there in all your magnificence, watching, shielding, hoping, and knowing what was to come. You gave me a desire for life and to be surrounded by the world's beauty. Both breathe life into my being, and I am grateful. Your light shines so brightly, and I pray to follow it all the days of my earthly life and forever in Heaven. Amen.
