Is sharing your faith easy or difficult for you?

Do you find it difficult to share your faith and beliefs with others? Do you fear their response? Think of what holds you back. Is there an experience that taught you to be afraid or concerned when you share your faith? Unfortunately, for many of us, the answer is yes. We can overcome this and find great joy in discussing and sharing our faith, but breaking down this wall may require courage.

We know Jesus spoke in parables to protect himself and others. He used stories to make people understand and seriously consider the meanings of his words.

Could you do the same? We have been shown that one way to overcome our fear is to tell our truths as stories. Stories are readily accepted and understood by others. Stories touch us, our minds and hearts, so they are memorable. They linger in our minds and foster an understanding that grows over time. Can you become a storyteller? You can learn to comfortably express your faith and belief through stories. Each of us can tell stories. It is a gift from our creator; he created storytelling within us, knowing we would need this skill to share his love.

Prayer:

Lord, you know me and my strengths better than I know myself. Please help me find the strength to pull your stories from within me. Make sharing my faith easy and not difficult. Help me bring others closer to you through my stories of faith. Remind me that I may not always recognize that I am impacting another with my faith, which is ok. I don't need to know what happens. Instead, I need to know I took action with and for you. Blessed giver of stories, you and your son, Jesus Christ, give me a wealth of love to share, and I am grateful. Amen

Reading this got me thinking... It is weird how some people get squeamish when talking about their faith, religion, and spirituality. Although I feel it is a very person relationship, you should never feel like you have to hide it or not share it. People share their race, their heritage, their culture... why not share their religion? Thanks for sharing!

Thought-provoking reflection, using stories as a human way to share what matters can feel far more natural than direct explanations. I especially liked the reminder that impact isn’t always visible, and that’s okay.
