February 3 - Right with the Lord

What do you need to do to become right with the Lord?

With Jesus, we don't need to make up for our past. We only have to accept his gift of forgiveness and salvation. Yet, there may be things we feel that require atonement and change. We may need to do this for ourselves and our relationship with the Lord. It may take time. Your current state didn't happen overnight, so while you can receive the gift of salvation immediately, the time to change will not necessarily occur overnight. The struggle may not go away so quickly.

Do not grow weary of the task. Persevere and do what you must to feel right with the Lord. Look for opportunities every day to adjust yourself, your thoughts, and your actions to be one with the path of the Lord. When you consistently do these things, consider yourself successful in your daily journey.

Prayer:

Precious God, there are many things I know I can never change from my past. What I can control is what I do in the future. I don't know how much I can or should atone for, but I want to improve my future by following you much closer than I have in the past. This thought pleases me and is exciting. I don't know where it will take me, but I know it will be fantastic for my life. Thank you for the road ahead and for allowing me to be more of the child you desire. Help me as much as you can, and I will do my best to grow and take actions that unfold my destiny. I love you, Lord, and thank you for blessing my life, family, and friends. In your lovely son's name, Jesus Christ, I pray for peace of mind and strength. Amen.
