September 2 - Spreading the Good News: The Power of Belief and Contact with Apostles and Believers
Finding Your Creative Bones® - Daily 365 Day Devotional with Tangle © 2023 Cindy Rae Fancher, CZT
Will you be caught spreading the Good News for the One?
The good news spread from place to place. From Jerusalem to Samaria to Ethiopia. People came to believe through their contact with an Apostle or another believer. Like fire, the belief and hunger for the Lord grew brighter and stronger as the desire to understand and know grew.
This happened because the believers listened to the voice of God and his angels. Phillip, for example, heard an angel tell him to get up and go toward Gaza. When he did, he found the Ethiopian Eunuch reading Isaiah yet unable to understand. Phillip taught him and baptized him before moving on to the next place God needed him to teach. The Ethiopian rejoiced, for he had found freedom in the Lord.
Prayer:
Lord, allow me to believe as freely and wonderfully as the Apostles believed. To live with the certain knowledge that you are there, and my mission is to find those who are hungry for you, as Phillip found the Ethiopian. All humans need you, yet we do not reach all in time. Please help me spread the good news to bring at least one person home to you through Jesus in my days, and let them bring at least two, and so on until all who can be are one through Jesus with you. In Jesus' name, I pray. Amen
