Recognize there is a reason for privacy between you and the Lord.
Persevere in privacy between you and the Lord. Stay active in giving, praying, and fasting, yet keep this to yourself. No one needs to know but you. Our Father knows even though you utter no words. To share the knowledge of an act negates the sacrifice. There is no gift in a known sacrifice. In truth, there is no sacrifice. It is a gift for yourself.
Take care not to do your good works before men, to be seen by them; or you will have no reward from your Father in heaven. (Matthew 6.1 Bible in Basic English (BBE))
Prayer:
Heavenly Father, it is hard not to share what we do with others. If only to make conversation, I see from this Scripture that I am cautioned against sharing what I do for you. This is challenging. I ask that you and the Holy Spirit guide me to refrain from speaking when I shouldn't and direct me to speak when I should include others in the actions I am trying to bring about for you. I have no desire to be arrogant or to brag. I only want to share my love for you, what I am doing to engage others in honoring you, my appreciation for the Holy Trinity, and your tremendous impact on my life. Amen.

I ask that you and the Holy Spirit guide me to refrain from speaking when I shouldn't and direct me to speak when I should include others in the actions I am trying to bring about for you. Help me be discreet.
