Do you consider being prepared for the Lord?
God called his servants Aaron and his sons, to be exact, in how they prepared offerings to him. God instructed the faithful to provide only the unblemished for sacrifice. The instructions in Leviticus detail what should and should not have been done to please the Lord.
While most of us do not prepare sacrifices as people used to, do we take such care with being ready and prepared for the Lord? Your heart and mind are crucial to time with and action for the Lord. Are there actions you could take to show more care in your preparations for being with and doing for the Lord?
For in it there is the revelation of the righteousness of God from faith to faith: as it is said in the holy Writings, The man who does righteousness will be living by his faith. (Romans 1.17 Bible in Basic English (BBE))
Prayer:
In my haste to move through the day, I am afraid that I do not always prepare for you as I could. I may not always have my heart ready to hear your words. My prayers are limited, and my focus is elsewhere. In addition, I know there are times when I do not take an action I could. Forgive me. I allow other things to take priority. I allow myself to be my priority. I understand this is one of the downsides of humanity, but I would be grateful if you would encourage me to reduce this inaction. I am changing and thinking differently with you. Please keep working on me; I will try to grow more decisive and deliberate. I love you, Lord, and appreciate you and all you bless me with. I pray for this and all you believe I need in Jesus Christ's name. Amen
