Day 300 - All Believers Face Persecution, Doubt, and Disbelief

Finding Your Creative Bones® 365-Day Devotional © 2023

It is true that believers face persecution, doubt, and disbelief. What is surprising is what you can learn from it.

This is what the Lord, the God of Israel, has said of you, O Baruch:
You said, Sorrow is mine! for the Lord has given me sorrow in addition to my pain; I am tired with the sound of my sorrow, and I get no rest.
This is what you are to say to him: The Lord has said, Truly, the building which I put up will be broken down, and that which was planted by me will be uprooted, and this through all the land;
And as for you, are you looking for great things for yourself? Have no desire for them: for truly I will send evil on all flesh, says the Lord: but your life I will keep safe from attack wherever you go. (Jeremiah 45.2-5 Bible in Basic English (BBE))

Some days will be terrible. To believe in Jesus Christ is also to know there is the opposite in the world. All believers face persecution, doubt, and disbelief. Struggling against these is the goal, yet it may scare or cause concern. Be confident; these feelings are a characteristic of being human. There will be difficult days, yet there will be those that prove you have chosen the one true God to love. Persecution is your proof that good and evil exist and that the battle between them will continue until the end. Keep your faith in the Lord, read the Bible, and find great comfort and hope in knowing you are a warrior fighting the great fight for your soul and God. Because your belief stays intact, you know you are staying strong in the Lord and your acceptance of Jesus Christ. Your war wounds should be considered your badge of love for the Father. You have already won the war. All of the other difficulties are only skirmishes along the way. Stay firm in your faith. God is with and within you.

Prayer:

Jesus, you redeemed me from an eternity of sorrow, and I am grateful. I am yours today and always. Help me remain firm in times of difficulty. Shelter me from great fear and hold my hand when I tremble. With the Lord, Holy Spirit, and all the angels in Heaven is where I want to be when the end comes. I trust until then, you will always have my back and all of me. I pray in Jesus Christ's name. Amen
