Day 191 - Provision and Wealth, Us, or Is it from God?

Finding Your Creative Bones® 365-Day Devotional © 2023

Who provides our provision and wealth, us, or is it from God?

Even of those whose faith is in their wealth, and whose hearts are lifted up because of their stores.
Truly, no man may get back his soul for a price, or give to God the payment for himself; (Because it takes a great price to keep his soul from death, and man is not able to give it.)
So that he might have eternal life, and never see the underworld. For he sees that wise men come to their end, and foolish persons of low behaviour come to destruction together, letting their wealth go to others. (Psalms 49.6-10 Bible in Basic English (BBE))

Provision. Wealth. Who provides our provision and wealth, us, or is it from God? Yes, you work hard, but is your success only yours? Who provided the blessings that enabled you to reach your current situation? Were you blessed by others showing you generosity and through their belief in you? What unexplainable events happened that helped you to get to your current situation? Where was God in your story?

Jesus Christ, my redeemer and the one who paid the price for my eternal life. I see you in these words within David's psalm. Here, again, is a reminder that you were destined to save me long before you came to the world. I am humbled by your Father's grace, benevolence, and love for all he created. I readily admit that without the provision of God, I would be nothing and nowhere in life. There are far too many unexplainable situations that have occurred to bless me throughout my life.

Thank you, Lord. You have blessed me with my ability to provide for myself and those who depend on me. Thank you, Lord, and thank you, Jesus. Amen.
