Do you share your faith openly or with apprehension?
Do you find sharing your faith, your belief, with others difficult? Do you fear their response? Think of what holds you back. Is there an experience that taught you to be afraid or concerned about sharing your faith? Unfortunately, for many of us, the answer is yes. We can overcome this and find great joy in discussing and sharing our faith, but breaking down this wall may require courage.
We know Jesus spoke in parables to protect himself and the others with him. He used stories to make people understand and consider his words' meanings seriously.
Could you do the same? We have been shown one way to overcome our fear is to tell our truths as stories. Stories are readily accepted and understood by others. Stories touch us, our minds and heart, so they are memorable. They linger in our minds and foster an understanding that grows over time. Can you become a storyteller? Express your faith and belief through stories.
Each of us can tell stories. It is a gift from our creator; he created storytelling within us, knowing we would need this skill to share his love.
Lord, you know me and my strengths better than I know myself. Please help me find the strength to pull stories of you from within me. Help me bring others closer to you through my stories of faith. Remind me that I may not always recognize that I am impacting another with my faith, which is ok. I don't need to know what happens. Instead, I need to know I took action with and for you.
Blessed giver of stories, you and your son, Jesus Christ, give me a wealth of love to share, and I am grateful. Amen.
